27th Sunday in Ordinary Time
Last week was a great one! Through our pope’s visit we were able to witness the love, the hope and the unity that only in Christ can be found. We were able to listen to him talking to us, to our families, to our church, to our country. Tomorrow, October 5 th 2015, Pope Francis will open the Synod on the Family. For the next 3 weeks he will meet with bishops from around the world to talk about the joys and the challenges of family life today. Together they will ask how the church can best serve and reach out to all families regardless of their situation.
This weekend’s readings could not be more appropriate. They remind us that the family is the first and basic institution of human society. Its nature and purpose are inscribed in the very makeup of man and woman who are incomplete in themselves....
